The Origin Story
The history of The Hot Sauce Hookup is very new, but the passion and drive for flavor creation has been around a long time for me. I enjoy taking the natural flavors of a food and matching it with other food in new ways to bring out and accentuate each other. I have taken this love for flavor, and I use it to create each and every bottle of my hot sauce!
The Peppers’ Story
It all started in the Spring of 2023. I purchased a few pepper plant seedlings from a local seller and fell in love with the growing process! It was only natural that I took the pods from those plants and made some delicious hot sauce. Throughout the summer of 2023, I was purchasing newer and different peppers from local Farmers’ Markets in Des Moines to experiment further. Luckily, I was able to lock in a couple handfuls of flavors that will tickle your taste buds!
Since Fall 2023, I have been involved with local pop-up markets in selling my sauces while I perfect my recipes.
2024 was the official launch year for The Hot Sauce Hookup and man was it fun!
I was a happy participant in the Grimes Farmers Market during the summer of 2024 and will be there again all summer during 2025! Also, make sure to check out my socials to stay up to date on popups and new flavors!
